February is Heart Awareness Month, and the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe Health Department is hosting two community learning sessions to help us think clearly and take action on long-term health.
This month’s focus connects a few things that really do overlap: alcohol, cancer risk, heart disease, and prevention. Sometimes we separate these topics, but real life doesn’t separate them. What we drink, how often, and why we drink can shape our health—and it can shape our homes, too.
So what are we covering?
We’ll talk about how alcohol can affect the body over time, how it connects to cancer prevention and heart health, and what “prevention” can look like in everyday life—not just in a clinic.
Upcoming sessions:
- February 4th, 2026
- February 25th, 2026
Drinks and snacks will be provided.
