San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe Health Department | Alcohol & Substance Abuse Program

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and the Health Department is opening its doors for a community Information Booth on Monday, May 4 from 9:00am to 1:00pm. The booth is at our office at 67 NW Maple Street in Tuba City, and anyone in the community is welcome.

Why a booth, and why now

Mental health is part of whole-person health. Stress, anxiety, and depression show up everywhere in everyday life. They show up as tight shoulders and short tempers, as long nights and tired mornings, as distance from the people who love us most. Awareness Month is the time of year when we name those things out loud and remind one another that we are not alone in carrying them.

The booth is a low-pressure way to start that conversation. The information you find at our table is the same information our staff shares one-on-one in the office, in a setting that has no intake forms and no pressure. You can walk in, look around, take a card, and walk out. Or you can stay, ask a question, and try one of the activities we will have set up. Whatever feels right.

What you'll find at the booth

  • Mental health awareness information on managing stress, anxiety, and depression in everyday language
  • Interactive activities with our team
  • A prize drawing with some great prizes. Register at the booth.

A note for anyone who is carrying something heavy

If you are struggling, you do not have to wait until Monday. You do not have to know what to say when you call. Reach out, and we will meet you wherever you are. That is what this office is here for.

If you or someone you love is in immediate crisis, please call 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, available 24 hours) or 911.
