On May 9, 2019, the Arizona House of Representatives honored the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe by joining the Tribe in celebrating the 30th anniversary of its Federal Recognition. Representative Arlando Teller offered a recognition that was read to the entire House of Representatives, recognizing the history of the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe in its indigenous territory in Arizona and Utah. President Yellowhair also spent time meeting with other members of the Arizona Legislature, including Representative Myron Tsosie and House Minority Leader Charlene Fernandez. While at the Capitol, President Yellowhair presented a Tribal flag to Senator Jamescita Peshlakai, with whom she discussed the role of women leaders in Indian Country.
